Why take X rays?
Your dentist may not be able to see all that they need to just by looking at your teeth - they may need to take an X-ray.
The X-rays pass through your teeth and bones and are picked up on an X-ray film or a digital receiver. They can show decay, gum-disease and areas of infection in the bone. This information is very useful for picking up early signs of decay before it actually starts to hurt.
